This blog will commence in a few weeks' time. Its purpose will be to share the experience of my lengthy journey through the civil court process in Scotland's Court of Session.
Lengthy? How about exceeding twenty years. I do not kid. It is a tale of "Bleak House" proportions for our modern times.
In sharing this story, together with my recollection of experiences and thoughts along the way, I aspire to inform any naively unwary souls of the perils of engaging with the Scots legal system. Whilst I promise to endeavour to make the blog "readable", I'll also provide links to scans of all the documents, judgements and arguments (of all parties involved) so that the more intensely curious can discover for themselves the merits and pitfalls of my tale.
From time to time I may digress to comment on matters related and yet unrelated to the process.
There ought to be a public warning - If perforce you are ever inclined to enter into any legal fray, first start a bonfire and burn £100 notes until the feeling goes away. I'd suggest that such'll save you a fortune in both time, money and heartache.
Should the whole tale be completed, my goal is to provide a resource from which others who follow might draw solace in lonely moments (should they disregard the above warning, or if misfortune has caused their circumstance to compel them to engage), and just perhaps, they may find some modest guidance from my experience hard-earned.
